About The Inspiration Ball
Background
The Inspiration Ball is a concept developed by Lehmann Communications plc, to help Lisa Connell raise awareness of her incredibly worthwhile mission.
In 2008, Lehmann Communications heard Lisa's story and decided to dedicate some much needed PR support to her cause. After speaking to many journalists, about Lisa, it was agreed that she was truly "Inspirational".
It is hoped that Lisa will meet the criteria to be entered into the Inspiration Awards for Women for 2010 www.inspirationawards.com
The Inspiration Ball will run as a yearly event, taking place every March, in Brain Tumour Awareness Month.
The Ball
The Inspiration Ball is to mark Brain Tumour Awareness Month and to celebrate the inspirational Lisa Connell, founder of Rent a Date for Charity.
In 2006, at 27, Lisa Connell was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. Lisa has made it her personal mission to raise £1m for brain tumour research before she dies. To do so she founded Rent a Date for Charity, the celebrity auction site, where visitors can bid for dates with celebrities. The Inspiration Ball will have a Rent a Date for Charity theme and guests will have the opportunity to bid, at a live auction, for dates with celebrities. Rent a Date for Charity
brainstrust, the Meg Jones brain cancer charity, was founded by Helen Bulbeck, mother of brain tumour sufferer Meg Jones, who at 19, was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Helen realised that there was not enough support in this area and founded the charity. She has recently had her tumour removed and, so far, is showing signs of a healthy brain. brainstrust is dedicated to improving clinical care for brain tumour sufferers and providing co-ordinated support in their search for treatment. www.brainstrust.org.uk
